She Sat in Her Car Crying Before Her Boudoir Session. Here’s Why.

A woman smiling and sitting in a makeup chair waiting to get her hair and makeup done for her boudoir shoot

Meet Rosie.

Before she ever walked into my studio, she was sitting in her car crying.

She had already booked with another photographer who canceled on her. Twice. So even though she had made it all the way to her boudoir session with me, she was waiting for her phone to ring.

She just knew I was going to cancel, too.

When she told me that, my heart broke a little. She wanted to do this for herself, but her past experience had made it hard to believe it was actually going to happen.

From Nervous Tears to “That’s ME?”

During her consultation call, I already had a feeling we were going to hit it off. And once she came inside, yep. I was right.

We started talking, getting comfortable, and doing what I do best: getting her glammed up while probably talking about everything under the sun.

Then came the chair turn.

If you’ve been in my makeup chair, you know this moment. Hair is done. Makeup is finished. I turn you toward the mirror so you can take it all in.

She started crying again.

But this time, it was because she said she had never felt so beautiful.

Well, hell. Now you’re going to make ME cry.

Her review says it better than I could:

“My hair and makeup was on point. I didn’t even recognize myself in the mirror because I’ve never looked nor felt so beautiful.”

That moment meant so much to me. Before we had even taken her first photograph, she was already seeing herself differently.

And the woman I was getting to know was every bit as beautiful as the one looking back at her in that mirror. Her warmth and personality made it so easy to connect with her.

A Boudoir Session and a New Friend

One of my favorite things about this business is how often a client walks in and a friend walks out.

We spend hours together. We talk, we laugh, and we get past that nervous “I have no idea what I’m doing” stage. You get to realize you can relax and let me guide you.

She wrote:

“She had me feeling like a goddess the entire day. I can honestly say I made a new friend for life today in Candice.”

The feeling is absolutely mutual. ❤️

And the woman who sat outside worrying her first session wouldn’t happen?

She already has her next one booked!

If You’re Waiting Until You Feel Ready

You might be reading this thinking you’d love to do a boudoir session, but you’d be too nervous.

You’re allowed to be nervous. You’re allowed to need reassurance, ask questions, and take a minute before you walk through the door.

You don’t have to arrive feeling like a bombshell. We can work on that together.

At Paparazzi Bombshell Boudoir in Springfield, MO, I photograph adult women of every shape, size, skin color, and age. Women who want to celebrate themselves. Women who have forgotten what that even feels like. Women who are finally ready to make room for something they want.

You’ll have help with hair, makeup, wardrobe, and every pose. And yes, I’ll tell you what to do with your hands.

If you’ve been waiting for your turn to feel beautiful, let’s talk. I’d love to have you in my chair.
