I Hated My Freckles Until I Saw Myself Through Someone Else's Eyes

A Springfield, MO Boudoir Experience Story

Monica’s Bombshell Experience

When Monica first walked into the studio, she wasn't excited.

She was terrified.

Like so many women who come through my doors, she was carrying years of criticism, self-doubt, and insecurities on her shoulders. She was worried about every little thing she considered an imperfection. The freckles she'd spent a lifetime hiding. The birthmarks she'd been teased about. The parts of herself she thought everyone else noticed first.

What she didn't realize was that none of those things were flaws.

They were part of her story.

And stories deserve to be celebrated.

"I Was So Scared, So Embarrassed, More Nervous Than I've Ever Been."

That was how Monica described herself before her session.

Honestly?

That is more common than you might think.

Women often assume everyone else who books a boudoir session is confident. They imagine they're the only one feeling nervous, vulnerable, or unsure.

The truth is that almost every woman who walks through my studio doors feels some level of fear.

They're worried about how they'll look.

They're worried about posing.

They're worried they'll feel awkward.

They're worried they'll see all the things they wish they could change.

Then something amazing happens.

They realize they don't have to carry all of that by themselves.

More Than Just Photographs

One of the things Monica shared after her session was that she felt seen for more than what was on the outside.

That means more to me than any photograph ever could.

Because while beautiful images are important, my real goal is helping women see themselves differently.

Not through the lens of criticism.

Not through the lens of comparison.

Not through the lens of every hurtful thing someone else has ever said.

But through a lens of truth.

The Freckles She Learned to Love

One part of Monica's story especially stuck with me.

She talked about her freckles and birthmarks.

Features she had hated for most of her life.

Features she had been made fun of.

Features she wished she could hide.

During her session, those same freckles became one of the most beautiful parts of her images.

Not because they were changed.

Not because they were removed.

Not because they were hidden.

Because they were finally seen as beautiful.

Exactly as they were.

The Woman Who Walked Out Was Different

By the end of her session, Monica wasn't focused on imperfections anymore.

She wasn't worried about what other people thought.

She wasn't shrinking herself.

She described feeling like a strong, empowered woman who could conquer anything life threw at her.

And honestly?

That's the woman I saw from the beginning.

Sometimes we just need help recognizing her.

To The Woman Who Is Hesitating

If you're reading this and thinking:

"I'm too nervous."

"I'm too insecure."

"I need to lose weight first."

"I hate this thing about myself."

You are exactly the woman I created this experience for.

You do not have to show up confident.

You do not have to know how to pose.

You do not have to love every part of yourself before you walk through my doors.

You just have to show up.

The rest, we'll figure out together. 💗
